Michael Roper
Peter Dodds Mccormack, Daryl Somers, Policeman
Michael is best known as the author of the Australian National Anthem, having written it under the pseudonym of Peter Dodds McCormick just 101 years before his recognized birth year. A true one-hit-wonder, he soon realized anthem writing wouldn't be enough to get the kids through school and has since turned his hand to law enforcement. Forever feeding the schizophrenic dualism of his real and fictional existence, Michael is widely recognized as a master architect of true fantasy. In previous lives, Michael has directed, lit, designed, and performed many theatre productions including The Dinner Party, in which he appeared as, among other things, a toilet wall.
Emily O'Brien-Brown
Genevieve
While spending her childhood traversing Europe in a campervan with her parents, Emily soon realised her smart mouth would one day get her killed or make her some money. So in 2000 she entered the halls of Auckland's drama school Unitec only to be spat out 3 years later more confused than when she went in. Since then Emily has worked as an actor for Auckland Theatre Company, Silo Theatre, 2econd Unit and Theatre Stampede. She has co-produced and performed in Cut Out a play for the Wellington Fringe Festival and the Auckland Comedy Festival. The most recent string to her bow is Nothing Special, a kooky short film screened as part of both the Cannes Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival. For We Are Young And Free is Emily's first theatre production in Melbourne and hopefully, with any luck it won't be her last.
